In a time of curfew, null freedom of speech and an official culture that encouraged simple, and absurd pop music,
several young people in many parts of Chile were germinating a loud and spontaneous cry of boredom. Protest music did not pass
beyond a few groups with folk roots, until the outbreak of Punk ...
Pank is the outcome of the need to recreate an aspect of the recent history of Chile, which given their precariousness, effervescence
and seminal status was poorly documented in its period.
In order to document this, we have interviewed the main characters of Chilean underground, responsible of the rise of Punk
in a society full of obscurantism and repression, setting the groundwork for a musical and cultural
movement that until these days remains strong and not willing to die.
